Classes postponed until further notice.

Our next annual Mark Yancich Timpani Class will take place once the health pandemic has some resolution and my own schedule will allow us to gather together in Atlanta, Georgia at Emory University and Atlanta Symphony Hall. Advanced timpanists, college students and teachers are invited to apply and attend.

Mr. Yancich studied timpani with Cloyd Duff and Saul Goodman, two of the greatest players and teachers of the 20th century! During this class, which was started at Mr. Duff’s request in 1998, Mr. Yancich comprehensively discusses and demonstrates all aspects of the art of timpani playing in a way which benefits every style of playing.

Mark Yancich has been the timpanist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 1981 and teaches at Emory University where he founded The Atlanta Percussion (TAP) Seminar in 1990. He also teaches at the Aspen Music Festival, is a frequent clinician throughout the country, has received critical acclaim for his "Art of Timpani" educational DVD series, and can be heard on well over 100 recordings, including most of the great choral/orchestral repertoire with Robert Shaw conducting.

Please join Mr. Yancich once we're back in session for 5 days (more than 24 hours!) of timpani instruction and collaboration. Fill out the attached application right away. . . enrollment is limited!
